What an incredible way to have a gorgeous beach cottage at half the cost. Dewees Island allows up to four partners per share, and this home has one partner selling half the house (two shares). Each quarter pays approximately $2500 per quarter– or $10,000 annually. If you’re not going to be a full time resident of the island, this is a great way to have full owner benefits, two weeks a month, for half the costs. And this house has the most incredible porch right on the marsh with great sunset views!
With great views of the marsh, sunsets, and storms moving across the mainland, 262 Old House Lane was built with a nod to the beach cottages of previous generations. With a wide wraparound porch facing the marsh and a gracious entryway in the front of the home, it provides seamless transitions to outdoor living.
The huge entryway provides a generous foyer within the screens to kick off your flip flops or set your beach towels before the front door.
Inside, a great room with a great open floor plan is anchored by the fireplace at one end, with a dining area at the other.
To the left of the front door is a half bath:
There’s a great dining area right near the kitchen:
The dining area flows seamlessly through the greatroom to the porches and the kitchen.
From the front door, you can see through to the incredible back porch:
The porch surrounds three sides of the house and has incredible views for casual outdoor living.
One end of the porch is currently reserved for the perfect hammock.
The master bedroom is on the main floor, with its own entrance to the great porch.
and a well-appointed master bath.
Upstairs, a large den serves as overflow space:
And all upstairs rooms have access to the incredible deck.
One bedroom shares a bath with the den and has twin beds:
And the other has a queen with private bath.
On the ground floor, there is ample parking for golf carts and an enclosed shower for rinsing sandy feet when coming from the beach.
Can you imagine stepping outside your door and seeing this view?
This is the view of the back of the house from the marsh:
In the aerial below, you can see how the house nestles into its surroundings.
Dewees is a private island dedicated to environmental preservation: there will only ever be 150 homesites, maximum. Experience the beach the way your grandparents did: with wide screened porches and the sounds of nature in the background. Relax in the understanding that future generations will experience it the same way.
