I have to admit, I have a really soft spot for this house at 312 Pelican Flight, having lived in it for a year when we were building our house. We loved the location on the island; incredibly close to the beach and the pool.
There have been two owners since we lived there in 2006, and they have made some great improvements. When you walk up the stairs, the front porch just beckons you to sit awhile.
The house is flanked by front and back porches that open wide to let the afternoon breezes blow through:
With this incredible back porch (sunset views) you’ll never get tired of watching the wildlife. We’ve seen deer, otters, owls, alligators, and there’s a view from the front porch of the eagle’s nest.
Inside, there is a great room attached to the eat-in kitchen with updated granite counters:
A gas fireplace anchors the great room, and the ships ladder on the right leads to the loft:
which has twin beds and a trundle, with room for spreading out:
The master bedroom is up the stairs on the other end:
Downstairs, two more bedrooms behind the kitchen share the hall bath:
And I have to go back to the porches: can’t you just see yourself hanging out on this porch?
with this view?
From these porches you can watch deer browse, otters play, eagles raise their chicks, and alligators bask in the sun. It’s ideally located on the island in the center of everything, but set back from the road in the hush of the maritime forest. Here’s how close the house at 312 Pelican Flight is to the ocean:
and from the porches, you have a front row seat to watch a pair of Bald Eagles raise chicks.
