Huyler House Clubhouse Dewees Island

Huyler House Clubhouse Dewees Island

The clubhouse, Huyler House, is the community center of the island.  Designed in the Lowcountry style with wraparound porches and a great room, dining room, catering kitchen, and Library, the building serves the community at all hours.  The Clubhouse is used regularly for Wednesday Roundtable Coffee,  Happy Hours, Art Shows and Receptions, Card games, Book Club, and other social gatherings.  There is also a library with books to borrow, a desk, and wifi.

The open space under the house is used for our annual fish fry, barbecue, oyster roasts, and nature programs. A pool table and ping pong table round out the game area, and the owner’s workout room is also located there. Located right at the swimming pool and tennis courts, Huyler House is a great place to connect with neighbors and friends.

Attached to the Huyler House are four hospitality suites, which are available to owners at reduced rates, and lot owners can stay for 10 nights for the cost of cleaning them.  The clubhouse is a great asset for homeowners with overflow guests. It’s part of our sustainability ethic: you don’t have to build the biggest house you would need for those few nights a year that you would have all of your extended family.

The suites are available for rental by the public: click here to make a reservation.
